Summary:

Sometimes even good girls need to be a little bad . . .

Marla Jean Bandy might be down, but she's not out. Even though her no-good ex-husband left her for another woman - a Bookmobile-driving librarian twenty years her senior - Marla Jean won't settle for another lonely night. She's not ready for Mr. Right, but why not have a little fun with Mr. Right Now? The only wrench in her plan is her childhood crush, Jake - and the memory of the one toe-curling kiss they shared on a hot summer night years ago . . .

One look at Marla Jean is enough to make any red-blooded man sit up and take notice - especially the kind of man nice girls should avoid. Jake knows he should let her make her own mistakes, but he owes it to her brother to look after her. Trouble is, the harder he tries to do the right thing, the harder it is to resist Marla Jean. She needs a man to make her believe love will last, and for once in his life, Jake wonders if that could be him.

My Thoughts on the Book:

Ain't Misbehaving is Molly Cannon's first book, and it's a great debut. I just loved every second of it.
Marla Jean's husband cheated on her with 20-year older woman then her & left her. Now, she decides that she wants to have some fun, but Jake (her brother's best friend) stands in the way. He had promised Linc that he will keep an eye on her while he's away, and although he realises that's a mistake (because of the attraction he still feels for his best friend's sister, and she should be out of bounds) he still tries to do what he promised.
But, Marla Jean doesn't give up on her plans & wants to stop everyone interfering in her life (her ex-husband & his girlfriend (which is actually Jake's aunt), Jake, her brother, her work & even her parents).
Through it all, there are lots of comical situations that made me laugh out loud, the dialogues between all the characters are witty & fun, and I loved the banter & interaction between Jake & Marla Jean. The romance & chemistry between them is pretty great, too, I absolutely loved most of their scenes.
Additional thing I especially loved was Theo, Jake's half-brother, he's such a sweety & another great character, so I hope he gets a book, too.
There are also some serious themes in this book, but I don't want to spoil it for you.
The characters are well developed & almost everyone are really likable (even Jonny Doe, at first I didn't like him, but now I do, and can't wait for his book) & I really liked the little town.
So, if you enjoy funny & sweet small-town romances, I highly recommend this book.
As for me, would I read this book again? Definitely. I think Ain't Misbehaving is one of those books I'll read again & again, and love it every time, so now of course I'll have to buy it.
I can't wait to read more from Molly Cannon!
